Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience. Mountain Vista Medical Center invites adults and high school students to share their time and talent with our visitors, patients and staff. Volunteers are found in every area of the hospital – from administrative offices to patient care areas. Here are some examples of volunteer opportunities at Mountain Vista:

• Administrative Support
  Weekdays during hours of your choice between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Use your general office and computer skills to assist various departments throughout the hospital.
   
• Book Cart
  Daily from 8 a.m.-noon and noon - 4 p.m. Collect and sanitize books and magazines. Deliver books and magazines to patient rooms, visiting with patients when they wish to visit.
   
• Emergency Room
  Daily from 8 a.m. - noon, noon - 4 p.m. and 4 - 8 p.m. Greet visitors and patients, provide magazines, children’s books, blankets, coffee and water to patients and visitors, operate the TV remote, escort visitors to the Emergency Room.
   
• Intensive Care Unit Waiting Room
  Daily from 8 a.m. - noon, noon - 4 p.m. and 4 - 8 p.m. Greet visitors and monitor number of visitors per patient, escort visitors to patient rooms and maintain visitor contact for emergency calls from ICU.
   
• Main Lobby Information Desk
  Daily from 8 a.m. - noon, noon - 4 p.m. and 4 - 8 p.m. Greet, assist and escort visitors, deliver flowers and mail to patient rooms.
   
• Outpatient Lobby Information Desk
  Weekdays from 8 a.m. - noon and noon - 4 p.m. Greet, assist and escort visitors and patients arriving for outpatient procedures.
   
• Outpatient Waiting Room
  Weekdays from 8 a.m. - noon. Greet patients arriving for outpatient procedures and ask them to sign in at the Outpatient Admitting desk.
   
• Special Events
  Scheduled throughout the year, special events include health fairs, baby showers and community education events.
   
• Surgery Waiting Room
  Weekdays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Greet and assist visitors as they wait for their loved ones to come out of surgery.
