Wound Care

For most people, wound healing is a natural, uneventful process. However, for some individuals, it becomes a complex medical problem requiring specialized treatment.

Mountain Vista’s wound-care trained specialists provide a multidisciplinary approach to complex wound healing, and work to improve and preserve quality of life by providing a comprehensive program of clinical wound care. The wound care specialists are committed to providing patients optimal care with dignity and respect, and focus on the whole patient by considering the patients' physical, spiritual and emotional needs as an integral part of the healing process.

Each patient receives a comprehensive and effective plan to help heal complicated wounds, and Mountain Vista has state-of-the-art equipment for evaluation, diagnosis, and management of wounds that have not responded to prior treatment. All patient care is coordinated with primary care physicians and specialty care providers to ensure the patient's overall well-being.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a specialized treatment in which the patient breathes 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The high concentrations of oxygen delivered to the bloodstream accelerate healing and help fight certain types of infections. The treatment can also stimulate the growth of new blood vessels to improve circulation and wound healing.

During treatment, the patient is comfortably positioned inside the chamber, and pressure is gradually increased. The procedure is painless, although some patients experience pressure in the ears. Technicians can instruct you in ways to help clear the pressure and eliminate any discomfort. Most patients watch TV or sleep during treatments.

Hyperbaric oxygen treatments are available Monday through Friday. Most patients require treatment over the course of several weeks to effectively treat wounds.
