TripleView screening offers comprehensive look at vascular health
Set of three tests can help save lives.
August 30, 2010

More than 81 million people in the United States have one or more forms of cardiovascular disease, according to the American Heart Association. These conditions include high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, stroke and heart failure. Early detection is the key to treating cardiovascular disease and saving lives, which is why Mountain Vista Medical Center is now offering the TripleView screening package.

TripleView is a non-invasive, three-part test consisting of the ankle brachial index (ABI), carotid ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound to detect for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). A radiologist on the medical staff interprets the findings to determine the risk of vascular disease. “Offering these three screenings as a package is a great benefit for our community – it can be a useful and preventive tool in the detection of heart disease and stroke,” says Georgine Lonson, R.T. (R) (M) (AART), director, Imaging Services, at Mountain Vista Medical Center. "It can help detect problems sooner. Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), for example, are among the top 13 leading cause of death in the U.S. and the third leading cause of sudden death in men. These screenings can save lives by identifying vascular problems that need immediate attention,” says Lonson.

Mountain Vista Medical Center is offering TripleView for $199. The TripleView package does not require a physician’s order and will not be filed with insurance. Appointments are available on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
