Mountain Vista Medical Center Tops Out
June 5, 2006
The final steel beam has been lifted into place at Mountain Vista Medical Center, a new 178-bed hospital under construction in Mesa, Arizona.
The placement of the last steel beam is a major construction milestone, signifying that the structural skeleton of the hospital is now complete. From this point, it will take just over a year to complete construction and preparations for the hospital’s opening.
“We’re very pleased with our construction progress,” said Joey Abney, vice president of design and construction for IASIS Healthcare, the parent company of Mountain Vista Medical Center. “We remain on schedule for a mid-2007 opening.”
Mountain Vista Medical Center will offer comprehensive health care services in a facility designed to enhance the patient experience. Most major services, including the ER, Surgery, ICU and Imaging Departments will be located on the ground floor. Those departments are located in close proximity to each other, in order to make the delivery of care more efficient.
Each of the hospital’s patient rooms will be private, to encourage rest and healing. The hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, including electronic patient records.
The hospital will offer a wide range of patient amenities, including valet parking, room service, and wireless Internet access in hospital lobbies.
Mountain Vista Medical Center is scheduled to open in mid-2007.
